But, in the interest of answering your question: 1) Relational databases are thoroughly entrenched in existing systems. Sometimes the choice of database is already chosen for you. 2) When you do have a choice, it comes down to weighing the trade-offs and picking the right tool for the job. There are plenty of benefits of Datomic and plenty of benefits for something like Postgresql.
