Hi everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹ It feels sad that offline Clojure events in Europe have almost disappeared. As far as I can see, in 2026 we only have Dutch Clojure Days โ€” and thatโ€™s it (or not?). At Health Samurai, weโ€™re thinking about organizing a Clojure conference in Portugal or Spain in early October 2026 โ€” but only if thereโ€™s real interest from the community. โ€ข Would you travel for it? โ€ข What kind of content or format is currently missing? React or comment below if this sounds interesting. If thereโ€™s enough interest, weโ€™re ready to make it happen!

Heart of Clojure was a great event and we are waiting since then for the next Clojure event. Portugal / Spain is not directly around the Corner but Central Europe (ideally Berlin) or BeNeLux would be great. How can the community help and support to set up an event ? Demand is there and I agree that the tickets will sell fast.

I'd go, but as DevRel, I always try to go!

Yes we could use more irl meetups. I would travel there (from Belgium) for a Clojure conference! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡น ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ

I already wanted to ask around about that. I was part of the organizing team for babashka conf in 2023 in Berlin. You can always see that demand is there since the tickets were gone pretty soon for the babashka conf and dutch clojure days. We should have more conferences (and irl meetups).

I'll be in Berlin for Innotrans. Would be a great excuse to visit Portugal/Spain ๐Ÿ˜‰. In all seriousness, I appreciate what SciClo is doing with the https://scicloj.github.io/clojure-jam-2026/. Would be great to bring an IRL experience for that community.

Heart of Clojure organiser here. I think there's plenty of demand for another Clojure conference in Europe. Do you have a venue in mind? What's the capacity? If it looks like a fun event and the ticket prices are reasonable people will come, you should be able to get 200~300 people there IMO. Sponsorship might be a bigger challenge, it's become notably harder for tech conferences to find sponsors, which is one of the reasons there are fewer events. That said, I think with some concerted effort you will find enough companies in the clojure space that will pitch in. So, my advice, just go for it! Happy to chat if you want to have someone sense check what you're planning.
