No ill intent with the wording, I fully sympathize. I just have never been able to consume Youtube content in a good way and found the beginning talk interesting as I was trying to watch it on video... which I actually don't know how to do. I very rarely consume work/programming related media by "sitting still looking at a screen". It is a personal challenge as more and more content is video only. Sigh. 😊

I agree completely. I find the move to video -- on both social media and in professional media -- very frustrating, and it really makes me feel like an old man, shaking his cane at the world and yelling "get off my lawn!" into the void... 🙂

Do you publish this any other place besides YouTube? There is some ranting in the beginning about how some of you don’t want video… and, well, it resonates. That’s the only reason I ask, is this available anywhere else?

For awhile we released it as a podcast as well but the amount of additional work was significant enough that we had to stop doing it. Audio editing is a real beast, unfortunately. Being very much Not A Video Guy myself I sympathize

Well, I wouldn't call my dislike of video "ranting" since it's definitely more my failing in terms of finding video or audio hard to follow / pay attention to 🙂 I like captions I can read, I like transcripts I can read.
