I recently booked the hotel for Strangeloop and it said there were no vacancies for the Saturday night after the conference was complete. So I booked with a Saturday checkout. Then I booked for just the Saturday night (without the conference code), and they had lots of rooms available. I think they just don't want to hand out the group rate for any more nights than they have to
