Mostly curiosity, anyone around here is a heavy Java user via Eclipe's lsp? I'd be curious if it's something I could rely on (the other option being intellij + misc tweaking)

I'm no heavy user, but every time I need to code java I use lsp-java and since before clojure I used to use Eclipse itself to code Java, the experience is pretty the same but on emacs which is better :p

Also, the Eclipse LSP server is a reference for other lsp servers, it has lots of cool java features, so if you already use another LSP for other lang, you will probably like it as well
