https://imgur.com/a/rvcJC camelCase vars are put in grey, and are hard to read how do I figure out what is setting this and change it ?

put your cursor on the variable and run M-x describe-face it should default to whatever face (i.e. color/font modifier) is setting that value and where it's defined (and with the value you can set an override value for that face)
