any tips on investigating a hard freeze in emacs? (i.e. it requires a force kill after a repeatable action)

specifically, helm-ag while using that font and the ligatures

@jcsims do you have helm-follow-mode on? in helm if you press C-c C-f? That makes Emacs freeze sometimes

I reproduced it consistently with just using helm-ag and typing enough characters to start the search. Before anything was displayed, it froze each time

simply change away from that font removed the issue
