I’ll defer to @marshall, but I suspect a system is the combination of compute + storage. For Datomic Cloud, this easily maps to the CloudFormation stacks involved. I’m not sure how that plays out for on-prem. You will only have one transactor (i.e., “writer”) at any time for each system (though you can have more than one running for fail-over).
