The goals for Datalevin stay the same, which are very different from everyone else’s. I intend to replace SQL, which in my mind is a COBOL era legacy. I am a HCI researcher, after all :-). Don’t think anyone else has such an ambition.

ChatGPT has bigger impact, but it still cannot deal with more complex data needs I believe.

The ability of GPT is limited by length of the generated text, so Datalog is going to win because it is more declarative and shorter.

It is not uncommon to see pages and pages of SQL, don’t think GPT can do that.

That’s my intuition as well but can’t articulate why.
