has anyone used google analytics before? i'm trying to get an impression of the pros and cons of using the plateform from the perspective of a data scientist.

GA is definitely quirky. Tough to configure properly to get the correct counts, make sure you can tie out with something you know is right first. The UI is a bit weird as well. Not my favorite, but not terrible either.
