I’m making this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fX2tFMAfhzY&feature=youtu.be
also has the same name as my boss's sass framework hahah, https://github.com/Wiredcraft/eggshell
@bbss I picked the name to sound like a popular spreadsheet software if you mispronounce it a bit 😄
I’ve just pushed a todo here: https://github.com/stathissideris/eggshell
I think customisable keyboard shortcuts is a big one (I’m an emacs person, so I need them)
add-lib+aliases will also be very interesting because you can then use any function you want in the cells

and then the last 3 items, which I haven’t thought through
I've been using clojupyter notebook a bunch. I'm also an emacs person, but the notebooks are great for sharing interesting code sessions, so I mostly use it to paste in my cider repl sessions hahah. Although codemirror does have emacs binds.
yeah, I guess notebooks are the second most successful UI for “casual computation” (after spreadsheets)
Yeah. To be honest I don't use spreadsheets a lot. But I hear from my office friends I hear they are open pretty much 24/7 on some of their colleagues screens.
I saw a while back there was a plugin that runs clojure inside excel I think
yeah, it seems it does exist! https://github.com/cfelde/cljs4excel
I’m not even sure it’s worth pursuing eggshell, part of the reason I’m pasting it here is to see what people think
glad to hear that!
@stathissideris it looks really cool. My excel interaction tends to be with interchange. I either receive or need to send an excel workbook to someone
One of our data scientists Amber wrote a second article about adding data science and machine learning to products. Would love feedback from the community. Is the content too simple or does it fill a sweet spot? https://cambium.consulting/articles/2018/6/11/extract-explore-transform-model-how-machine-learning-projects-unfold?utm_source=slack_clojurians&utm_campaign=machine_learning
@stathissideris Very cool! Love the name. I also don't use spreadsheets a ton, but when I do, it would be great to do it with cljs!
@otfrom same, but I suspect the reason I don’t use it very much is partly because of my dislike
@metasoarous this is clj, not cljs (it’s a desktop app, written in swing)
glad you like it, my hope is the mix of a spreadsheet and clojure may make the whole think more appealing
we deserve better than excel 🙂
Lol; Agreed. Thanks for clarifying.
