Hi every one I want to create Iran Clojure & Clojurescript community & launch two website http://clojure.ir & http://clojurescript.ir I would be thankful if you share any advice on this Thank you
Any useful advice on how to do it? Basic thing is creating some educational videos What are other options as well? Do you have any experience on building Clojure community in your country?
OK, so you're asking specifically about community building. No, no experience with that. Personally, I don't see any need. I'm Russian and the Russian Clojure community already exists in Telegram, but I dislike the platform and don't find the discussions there useful to me in any way, nor I can see myself as being of any use to that community. I've been living in Cyprus for the past 5 years, but I wouldn't be surprised if I'm the only Clojure programmer in the country. :D I can only add that I myself would definitely not create a website for a community. There's plethora of services now that you don't need to maintain, at least not from the technical perspective.
@U06N70704T0 I recommend having a chat with @U04V5VAUN, @U01PE7630AC, @U3X7174KS and other folks in #C061XGG1W. They have created a thriving Norwegian Clojure community which we are trying to replicate for Sweden. Key ingredients as I see things: • Relentless work on getting the #C061XGG1W channel to activate • SUPER generous environment where everyone gets tons of help, be it beginners or experts who needs it • Regular (sort of monthly) Clojure lunches in Oslo (rationale is that it is low threshold for both the people arranging and for participating. • Out of the lunches and the activity in the slack channel, initiatives for meetups happen. • Two bad ass, thought-leader, Clojure developers who regularly blog in Norwegian (this is not so easy to replicate, but anyway) I think your web sites can be put to excellent use. For instance make it easy to blog there in Persian. (I would check with @U07FCNURX and @U9MKYDN4Q for tips around creating a good platform for this.) Create some simple calendar keeping track of activities, and so on. Please keep us posted in this channel about how you fare. What works and what doesn’t and such. And please let us know if you need any help whatsoever. I am convinced that Clojure’s part of the future of programming hinges on that we get communities local and global going.
Thank you @U0ETXRFEW your suggestions are really helpful
