ClojuTRE was quite ok

I clearly missed something here 😁

I'm guessing Twitter given how much time @borkdude wastes spends there ;)

yogidevbear09:10:04

Does that mean I still have time?

yogidevbear09:10:09

ClojuTRE was quite ok

Toni Vanhala09:10:45

This may backfire spectacularly

borkdude09:10:16

Doesn't this mean "it was spectacularly awesome" in Finnish?

yogidevbear09:10:40

It was indeed spectacularly awesome

yogidevbear09:10:21

Ah, I see it was the last book. I guess I was too late 🙂

Toni Vanhala09:10:57

I thought it was a clever parody of #NoOneReadsAnything. I'd like to keep it that way

Flavio Corpa09:10:48

I still kinda like ClojuROI

International friends, ROI is the nickname of Rovaniemi, on the arctic circle, home of Santa Claus https://goo.gl/maps/3VKFRvdYjEzFeojT7

tatut10:10:06

although the travel arrangements from abroad would be much more difficult

plexus10:10:43

Clojure Return On Investment? A conference full of Clojure success stories, could be a thing!

borkdude10:10:47

Somewhere more central in Europe as a replacement for EuroClojure would be cool to me, so I don't need to fly anymore 😉

borkdude10:10:07

but then people from Finland would have to fly probably, so no

tatut10:10:07

what about “clojure on international waters” -cruise

Toni Vanhala10:10:27

ClojuTaxFree. Well that’s an idea

tvirolai10:10:33

ClojuMAR in Mariehamn?

tatut10:10:57

“no state, no tax” tagline

lol 8
borkdude10:10:06

Clobscjure. A conference in the most obscure village you've ever been to.

plexus10:10:24

maybe somewhere in Poland or in the baltics is doable by train from Finland and from other Clojure hotspots in Europe (cough Berlin cough)

plexus10:10:39

or ferry + train at least

borkdude10:10:52

Hamburg could work?

tvirolai10:10:01

Tallinn could be a compromise

plexus10:10:02

I would take the train to Stockholm as well, or Denmark, and that should be doable as well for the finns

borkdude10:10:25

I went to Copenhagen by train once in one day, could work

borkdude10:10:35

via Hamburg

borkdude10:10:47

Talinn takes 3 days by train according to http://bahn.de from my city.

valtteri16:10:54

+1 for ClojuROI. I don’t think it would be an issue from traveling point of view. Rovaniemi has an airport and if you don’t want to fly you can always take the night train from Helsinki.

kulminaator17:10:37

let's meet half way - gotland

Daniel Slutsky19:10:41

Some of us had some thoughts and chats about how we could have more planned time to meet and talk on future conferences. Having a long train ride, with a train full of Clojurians, can be a cool way to meet and talk.

martinklepsch21:10:29

ClojureROI and the night train from Helsiniki is part of it. Where do I sign up?

❤️ 8
martinklepsch22:10:33

If we’re enough people I guess we can fill an entire train? 😄

dominicm22:10:11

Hallway track, conference track, train track

Have you ever been on a finnish train? They have fast internet. Your productivity will go to hacker news.

borkdude22:10:38

I'm usually connected via 4G anyway.
