some conferences have live streaming but they still get sold out every time

talks are great but only a small part of the actual conference "package"

(not saying we need live streaming btw, I don't think it makes much difference if they are out there a few days later)

I think attendees underrate the level of risk and complexity added by live streaming (both inherent in the live streaming, but also to the recording, as it’s another moving piece in the same mix). as an organizer, I have found it hard to justify that risk.
