i see that replied to threads without activity first 6 months is disallowed. can that be changed? one of the nice things about forums is the ability to maintain long threads without having to constantly start from scratch or losing the shared history

i ran into this with my thread on my linter Splint, where i had been posting every time i cut a new release and then took an eight month break due to work and life, and then was unable to post another update because it had been too long. posting a second splint thread loses the history of the original thread, folks who participated aren't notified of the new thread, and now to see the full conversation, your gotta clock through multiple threads.
