The press are out for blood

Starmer seems to have been almost universally hated... which as a long-time Labour supporter makes me sad 😞

It's bizarre - he's not done anything outrageous like the other ex-prime minsters. He just gets on with it.

Yes, mistakes have been made, but it's not like the lettuce lady 🙂

Yeah. Even more bizarre, the UK economy is booming atm!

Same over here with Biden in a way. He just quietly got on with making the government work and we had the best economy in the Western world after recovery from COVID. But the press nailed him for every single stumble or spoken mistake. I read that a lot of journalists loved the 1st Trump administration because of the drama -- All The News! -- and Biden's administration was just boring, so those journalists really wanted a 2nd round of Trump because it generates clicks and engagement.

I just hope the balance shifts in the mid-terms in November and Democrats take the House and Senate (the former is definitely possible and maybe even likely, the latter will be tough). Then they can push through impeachment and removal under the 25th Amendment maybe. At the very least, they can bury the Republicans' attempts to push more harmful legislation.

It certainly is going to be watched closely.
