Morning Friends! Happy New Year to you All! 🙂
Morning! All our NYE snow finally melted - yesterday was above freezing, and it rained... we haven't used the hot tub since Xmas day because it was so windy the first week and so much snow the second week:neutral_face: Some of our California friends spent the New Year in Dundee, visiting their daughter at university. They were pretty excited about the snow that fell there (but also worried it might cause travel issues).
Morning @seancorfield! HNY! Are you all moved away from CA now..? (I can’t remember, nor can I remember where you have moved to…) My snow, in the glen has been taken away by rain too, but we have snow on the tops…
Settled in N.E. Ohio, yes. We moved the cats (and my wife in early April), then I flew back to CA, oversaw packing, and drove our car to Ohio -- 2,500 miles, twice, on Interstate 80 pretty much door-to-door, in just over a two week period 🙂 We have a few little mounds of snow left where it has drifted. We had about 3" overnight on NYE but it was windy so parts of our back deck and driveway had up to 8"... This was what we still had on the 5th -- I had run the snowblower over the driveway and front ramp, and swept the steps.
Here's that same area on the 1st, right after the night of snow:
You can't even see where our driveway is! 🙂
Do you own massive cats? I mean, giant, gignormoous cats? For those are some huuuuuge cat paw tracks
I have fear!
Ohio, yes, I remember now! Looks nice!
Also, I am with @dharrigan - what’s with the alarming cat tracks in the snow?
Jay made them. She bought two big paw print molds, then made concrete and colored it. We used to have them in the back garden, as steps to the "hill house", as we called it, where foster/rescue cats could live separate from our gen pop. It was an 8'x10' shed, with insulation and drywall, electric heat and A/C, and double-glazed windows. So we carefully packed them up and brought them to Ohio. The front used to have just a concrete block and three steep steps to a curved cement path to the drive. When we had the porch/ramp/new steps built, it covered the curved path, so we put the paw prints between the drive and the new steps.
We have door mats that say "Hope you like cats!" and "Wipe your paws!" 🙂
Our "big, fierce" goofball of a cat... (one of eight at the moment -- the smaller, darker cat in that picture passed away some months ago).
