Morning
Morning! Mostly recovered from Conj...
sounds like you had a lot of fun!
I only went to a couple of talks each day, but the hallway track was especially good this year, with the focus they had on networking.
hallway tracks are the best IMHO.
how was the driving?
Beautiful on the way down, and the first half of the way back - I detoured to Asheville and the blue ridge mountains and Tennessee - then over four hours of winding freeway in the dark:expressionless:
I think overall it was close to 20 hours on the road.
dang, that is quite a drive. I once went from Tucson Az. to San Diego Ca. 6 hours each way through the desert. that was kinda fun as well.
Anything leapt out to you as worth a look from someone who couldn't join in @seancorfield? =)
@folcon Hard to say since I only attended a couple of talks each day:
• Sandra Sierra's "12 Years of Component" (I have used Component heavily for most of those 12 years) and
• David Nolen's "ClojureScript Survival Kit" (awesome if you are into cljs -- I found it really interesting and I don't even do cljs) on Thursday;
• Jeaye Wilkerson's "How to stick with your projects" (inspirational for OSS maintainers) and
• Michiel Borkent's "Making Tools Developers Actually Use" (I was late to the bb party but this was a fascinating insight into Babashka and Scittle) on Friday.
I figure I'll catch all the rest when the recordings came out.
I think one can still get a streaming package if one is eager to binge watch some talks? :)
I still have to catch up to a lot of them but I liked the ones Sean Corfield mentioned (happened to see those). Can't vouch for my own talk, but happy that Sean liked it :)
Basically, I attended the first talk of each day and then ended up in hallway/coffee room conversations for most of the day after that. I missed the beginning of Nolen's talk but I did catch all of Michiel's -- being immediately after the coffee break and almost everyone streaming back into the room to hear it certainly helped there!
($400 for the conference, $650 for the hotel/parking, and 20 hours of driving was absolutely worth every cent for the in-person stuff -- the talks are just gravy on top, IMO)
How much is the streaming package?
Nevermind I found it. I can do $10 for this, thanks for the tip @borkdude :)
