Mornin'... looks like my wife won't get to experience the Dundee weather this week after all... they're having problem's getting the cat's health certificate registered with APHIS (the whole point of Jay going to San Francisco was to help her friend's daughter move to Dundee for her Master's degree with the cat!)... so the daughter may fly out direct, with her (helicopter) parents, and Jay may bring the cat home with her, and make another attempt at getting the cat to Dundee at a later date (we're currently planning to be in the UK twice next year). So we may have 9 cats for a while.

Crikey! I did not know until today that people travelling / moving internationally for University took their pets along with them… I mean for one thing, would the Halls of Residence at Dundee even allow a cat..?

She's not staying in the Halls. This is for a Masters in Forensic Biology or something like that, so she's found a rental property that allows pets. The main complication is that you can't take pets directly into the UK -- you have to come in via Europe (even after Brexit!) and you have to jump through a number of hoops with paperwork (but at least there is no longer the extended quarantine that there used to be).
