mawning
turned out quite well...
Not jealous. Not at all jealous ðŸ˜
sadly all eaten now @U0MFQNXFZ... but I'm thinking of the next iteration
9.9/10 from the kids
although i think they are too easily swayed by any pile of sugar placed in front of them
Those look yummy!
(as long as they don't have peanut butter in?)
Morning.
Today's baking exploits only include bread. Makes me wish I had the time to do this under "normal" circumstances - it's far more substantial than the Chorleywood fluff from the supermarket.
lol, they are mostly peanut butter @seancorfield... in homage to reese's peanut butter cups
Yeah, I looked over the recipe 😞 I'd want to do it without PB since I can't stand it -- I can't even stomach the smell of it.
without PB it would basically be chocolate digestive biscuits (since i sub'd grahams crackers for plain digestives, 'cos UK) - which is also not a bad thing
bread machine!
Do you find bread machines are cost effective? Or can they make better quality bread so its healthier?
bread machines are mostly super convenient - there are some shortcomings to the loafs (shape is fixed, there's a hole where the kneading paddle stopped), and there is some loss of flexibility (e.g. sourdough isn't possible with many machines), but you can put a bunch of ingredients into the machine in <2 mins and 3 hours later you reliably have a loaf
for a given quality they are somewhat cheaper than shop-bought too, and you can make your own mixes of flours (we're mostly doing a spelt and rye mix atm, which results in quite a dense loaf)
you can do sourdough - but you need to be careful about which bread machine you get, and it's probably going to be one of the more expensive ones
i gather gluten-free is possible, although i've not tried
Mainly, there is childrens calendar in the kitchen that says it is, everything else says it's on the 8th
"In 2020, the Early May Bank Holiday will be moved to Friday, May 8 to coincide with Victory in Europe Day, or VE Day, which marks the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe." from some google result
ah yes Victory in Europe Day
Jerry gets got a pasting
again
morning
there's some kind of baking arms race occurring on my street and I'm getting the benefits despite not actually baking myself
does that mean you are viewed as an impartial judge?
or a Noel Fielding type cheerleader?
neither, I seem to get baked goods when made here, then receive them from neighbours despite doing none myself
Hey all, how do you/your companies check for vunerabilities in your clojure deps?
I know about lein-nvd
https://github.com/rm-hull/lein-nvd but I thought it only checked the java deps?
Hey, yeah going ok thanks! My kids are finding it the toughest as they are so fully of energy haha
its getting really tiresome... but better that watching people cough themselves to death ...
I now have a clearer insight into why dogs chew furniture. Lots of spare time for coding, learning, writing, baking etc., which is great - but the need to earn an income is becoming pressing!
Not much has changed for me. I still work full time I just don’t have to take the tube every day. I am surprised how much I enjoy remote working after getting used to it but I wish I could just go out and see friends
hi guys; distasteful question;
I am having problems with DLL loading into JVM on windows
I have customised java.library.path
and I strongly suspec that this only gets respected by the top layer generation of (System/loadLibrary
, and sub-dependencies are determined by OperatingSystem.
Does this ring any bells for anyone?
Is there a decent soluttion (other than by calling System/loadLibrary
in reverse dependency order from my code?
Bummer 😞 They were the first band I ever saw live. At the Crawley Leisure Center, with Wire supporting.
Oh blimey. That's sad news indeed. One of my favourite bands.😢
