@dominicm I say ahead because it appears we embrace event oriented systems without a blink of an eye. More update in place, synchronous approaches are still the norm in other communities, be that good or bad.

Picking up on yesterdays discussion of organising apps by feature (it’s what I advocate too), it’s also worth stating that API’s or libraries should typically be organised horizontally, by layer or type of thing. As a library is typically meant to be generic and cross cutting it’ll be concerned with how you do things not so much what you’re doing.

Hello there 🙂

otfrom14:11:16

I'm so happy for you @thomas 😄

jasonbell14:11:20

Congratulations @thomas!

thomas14:11:21

thank you all. 🙏

thomas14:11:26

one confession though... I don't use Emacs... we all have Cursive licenses here at Avisi.

dharrigan14:11:47

Congrats on not using Emacs, or congrats on working with Clojure? 😉

Wes Hall14:11:41

Haha! I mostly use vscode now so I am neutral on the second point.

otfrom15:11:14

@thomas always use the tools that work best for you in the environment you are in 😄

mccraigmccraig15:11:32

there's always time @thomas, emacs will still be there when you finally realise the shortcomings of lesser editors

thomas15:11:02

So far I am enjoying Cursive/IntelliJ, no complaints less.

flefik15:11:10

@mccraigmccraig when you say lesser editors, you are counting size in megabytes, yes?

mccraigmccraig15:11:09

@cfeckardt ofc, you have uncovered my guilty secret

flefik15:11:38

disk is cheap these days, no reason to feel guilty anymore

dharrigan15:11:43

less is more

mccraigmccraig16:11:54

i do agree @dharrigan - i'm recently finding myself quite tempted by the minimalist purity of vim's grammar

It’s everywhere.

well, vi is everywhere

I’m waiting for the Windows based Clojure developer to write code purely with copy con

mccraigmccraig19:11:26

vim's strengths are composability, ubiquity, ruthless efficiency and surprise?
