this is such a blow for the tech community in London and the UK

Its very sad if SkillsMatter cannot continue. Its not that surprising to me though. I have seen a lot of training and community activities trailing off over the last couple of years, even in London. Still a lot happening in mainland Europe though.

Is it confirmed from SM that all future events are cancelled?

I am dubious about any statements at present, especially as the website of the administrators is not working (possibly why the link from @otfrom was an archive site)

I will inquire with my friends at SkillsMatter and see what their understanding of the situation is. SkillsMatter often cancel non-commercial meetups, so will need to find out more.

I am afraid this means that ClojureX is cancelled for the foreseeable future. I am trying to see if there is any contact for speakers and attendees, but in these situations it is unlikely any refunds will be available. If I hear anything more I will share straight away.

That utterly sucks 😞. Honestly, time for one or two of the "big dick" tech firms to recognise that organisations like SM are the people that are training their talent pool and stump up some grants.
