Recommends for favourite - ligature-aware - font for editing clojure (or a.n.other source) code?
https://typeof.net/Iosevka/ It's a nice font
so was curious to see what others are using (presently, I'm experimenting with Hasklig)
(but as The Other Fussy Dev in my co. uses Fira Code, I have to go with Iosevka to break the trend 😉 )
Just tried Iosevka, not really for me - too "thin". I like my fonts a bit wider 🙂
I have gone proprietary and used source code pro, feels bad but I also really like it
Oh, I got mixed up, it's input mono that's proprietary. https://input.fontbureau.com/

morning
I use meslo DG for powerline
I use the Ubuntu font family, i find it very readable and elegant. They are under an open licence and come with my favourite operating system. The fonts are also available as a free download from https://design.ubuntu.com/font/ and via Google fonts CDN for web apps https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Ubuntu
I do hate it when I type inverted commas and they get converted to some utf monstrosity that get mangled in my ascii text editor
i used to like the ligatures, but then i switched to a version of osx-emacs with better scroll performance and i lost the ligatures
the word has unpleasant associations
makes me think of Lindow Man
@ben.hammond I do think everyone who uses these fonts will be ritually sacrificed and thrown into a peat bog. That's just physics.
they'll become immortal
the egyptian pharaohs who were mummified in preparation for the afterlife; and it turns out that the afterlife is to be in a glass case in the British/Cairo museum I presume that would ... come as a surprise to them

I like ligatures in my editor (emacs, PragmataPro) but this is interesting: https://practicaltypography.com/ligatures-in-programming-fonts-hell-no.html
I was wondering if anyone else was having that association, @ben.hammond
that is all
