Yeah, mainly seeing friends but also went up the coast to the barrier reef and daintree rainforest

Australia wasn't somewhere I was arsed about going to tbh but actually once we got there it was really good!

Yeah when I went to visit my mate over there, he insisted we meet in NZ instead… I think the consensus is Australia is pretty great, but very spread out… NZ has similar stuff but closer together was his reasoning anyway. As always it depends on what you want to do

still barrier reef would be great… did you go diving?

Sydney is nice but we preferred the area around Melbourne. Wine country. Penguins. And drivers are much more polite in Melbourne 😁

Haven't been to the Gold Coast tho'. It's on my list. We went to Tamworth which is a short flight north of Sydney -- country music capital of Australia, but we were there for a cat show.

Wine and Penguins… sounds like South Africa - they have that winning combination too 🍷 🐧

yeah we did yarra valley around melbourne, saw some of the wildlife, snorkelled the reef, did all the plant and animal based classics 😄

port douglas for the reef though, so way north, further north than cairns

means you can go to the daintree and cape tribulation p easily though which is 🔥

and yeah, your assessment of NZ doesn’t seem far off - although obviously NZ is a lot more provincial (what with a population the size of greater syndey)
