Happy Ada Lovelace day 🙂

jasonbell12:10:52

My daughter now calls me Ada. Derived from "Hey, Dad!", shortened to "Ay, da" and then she made the shrewd move to just calling me Ada. That's how she wrote my birthday card.

3Jane12:10:27

We welcome you to the secret society of honorary Adas.

Good Morning Everyone! I am VERY glad to see that the celebrations for my favourite commemorative day of the year are in full swing 🙂 HAPPY ADA LOVELACE DAY!

maleghast08:10:16

@lady3janepl - Can I please steal that graphic for my Facebook and Twitter..?

3Jane08:10:17

Go ahead (it’s not mine though)

3Jane09:10:53

(I have it printed and pinned 😄 )

rickmoynihan14:10:42

I’ve had a copy of this for years; would recommend.

otfrom19:10:19

love my copy too

maleghast09:10:37

Thanks! 🙂

maleghast09:10:04

Have you ever seen the play "Childe of Byron"? It's a play all about Ms Lovelace. I saw a friend play Ada in a production in Philadelphia a few years ago; was really good.

3Jane09:10:47

No, I haven’t but now I’m going to look it up! Thanks 😄

maleghast09:10:44

You are very welcome - I am so buying that book you linked ^^

I have a 🧠 melt... 4 projects that are all high priority and all need my attention now and deadlines that are approaching.

sending an email now to management and project managers.

alexlynham10:10:53

always hate when that happens... everything comes to a head at once

end of quarter

3Jane10:10:50

(my condolences btw)

thomas11:10:47

and these are not even an end of quarter issues, just the 'normal' stuff.

flefik11:10:01

I like Ada Lovelace but god do I despise Ada the language.

flefik11:10:27

I think it's the mixed underscores and camelcase that does it for me. The worst of both worlds

maleghast14:10:55

@cfeckardt - Nothing is perfect, and while the memory of Ada Lovelace is a wonderful thing, I agree with you re ADA the programming language. Thank goodness for Clojure, a language that I am sure Ms Lovelace would have approved of. 😉
