Those are real face palms

3Jane06:09:45

Tbh my reaction is “oh, a juvenile sex joke, how droll (insert heavy eye roll)”

3Jane06:09:00

There are ways to be inappropriately funny but that is not it :)

What does your day hold in store for you today @lady3janepl?

3Jane06:09:24

(And good morning!)

3Jane06:09:02

Up Kasprowy peak, then a trek across two linked peaks, then a walk down the valley and a nice dinner somewhere :D last day in the mountains

yogidevbear06:09:06

Sounds very picturesque 🙂

3Jane06:09:10

It’s lovely :) There will be pictures but not on the channel to save space XD

3Jane06:09:31

How are things for you?

mccraigmccraig06:09:00

i, for one, would like to be on a cable car heading up the mountain right now

3Jane06:09:55

Gotta figure out how to organise a Clojure conf in Zakopane :D

3Jane06:09:06

Can’t remember the name, but there’s at least one dev conference organised on a holiday resort island

practicalli-johnny13:09:48

@lady3janepl Happy to offer advice on running your own conference. I co-ordinate the London ClojureX conference and have run several hundred developer events over the last decade.

3Jane16:09:44

Amazing! I’d love to talk about organising events and learn from you. Will you be at the meetup at Signal?

practicalli-johnny14:09:48

Hello Jane, yes I will be at both the Signal event and the ClojureBridge coach training event next week. So feel free to come and ask.

alexlynham07:09:30

moooorrrrrrning

alexlynham07:09:54

btw is anybody going to London clj next week?

guy08:09:13

morning!

3Jane13:09:24

‘s where I am at the moment. A holiday destination on the Polish side of Tatra mountains. This was apropos preferring to sit in a cable car (it’s one of the well known local attractions)

firthh08:09:09

@alex.lynham the one at Signal with someone talking about serverless? 😉

yogidevbear09:09:17

Is there a way that I can pull in Clojure libraries on the fly within lein repl?

practicalli-johnny14:09:47

@yogidevbear clj-refactor can hotload a dependency into a running repl. I believe you add each dependency in turn and they are hotloaded. https://github.com/clojure-emacs/clj-refactor.el/wiki/cljr-hotload-dependency It's used when you add a project dependency https://github.com/clojure-emacs/clj-refactor.el/wiki/cljr-add-project-dependency

yogidevbear14:09:51

Sounds similar to what Chas is doing here https://github.com/cemerick/pomegranate I got this working

yogidevbear09:09:41

I know about lein try, but that seems to be for including a single lib at repl startup

Rachel Westmacott09:09:30

there is a way - but I can’t remember it

Rachel Westmacott09:09:57

there are some libraries that do that - but you’ll need them in your deps before you start the REPL

yogidevbear09:09:05

Yeah, that's the thread I was reading where I found out about lein try

yogidevbear09:09:54

https://github.com/cemerick/pomegranate looks good though. I'll give that a try

yogidevbear09:09:08

I can probably use it in conjunction with lein try if need be

xlevus09:09:58

I could be talking out my ass here. But I'm somewhat confident I was playing with the REPL in spacemacs and was able to hotload libraries through some magic wizard

guy09:09:24

I’ve always just stopped the repl and restarted it 🤷 but thats in a raw repl or intellij etc

alexlynham09:09:44

@firthh indeedy, just wondering who I'll see

firthh09:09:42

I’ll be there

3Jane13:09:33

@alex.lynham I want to go as well

alexlynham13:09:02

would be good to meet some folk irl

alexlynham13:09:16

have to leg it for a train at 9, but will be about for a bit before & after

alexlynham13:09:40

hardly maximising my time in the smoke but I've got like an 8:30 thing the morning after in mcr so couldn't face a morning train

3Jane13:09:19

That’s a night train.

3Jane13:09:55

Anything that requires you to get up before dawn is night firmly believes

3Jane13:09:35

That said, trains out of London are bound to be better than into London

alexlynham13:09:43

yeah, it was 6:00am at peak price (£100) or £28 to get the 9:40pm after the talk

benedek14:09:33

@yogidevbear clj-refactor has such a feature

benedek14:09:00

got disabled on the latest stable release due to java10 compatibility issues

practicalli-johnny14:09:30

@U0508JT9N clj-refactor is not loaded by default if using the spacemacs develop branch, however you can enable it by adding a :variable to the Clojure layer config. I assume you can do similar with your own Emacs config

benedek14:09:23

ah right. did not know. thx for the info

benedek14:09:16

so only if you have an older version of cljr

manas_marthi18:09:33

Who in this group works for juxt?

manas_marthi18:09:33

Let me guess 1)yogidevbear
