@maleghast re: your emacs post - I've been cargo culting emacs configs for years and slowly learning it over time. Grabbing smaller bits an playing with them helps, my current config is probably the closest I've come to having my "snippets" in separate bits and mostly self contained.

a week up north of Inverness and a week at home in Dundee

ah, nice - i'll bet the scottish wilderness was great, assuming it wasn't raining?

we took the bairns to menorca for some sunshine and swimming. i'm kinda disbelieving of all these tall tales of a british heatwave now i've returned

east coast, so nowhere near as much rain (and no midges)

was beautiful. the odd shower, but mostly 20C and sunny

Trust me to be on the wrong side of Northern Ireland on Saturday, never seen rain like it.

I can explain why we had massive thunderstorms across the east of England over the weekend….

I got my motorcycle out of the garage and had it serviced and MOT’ed for first time in 4 years. So it’s going to rain for 40 days and 40 nights now!
