Morning morning

jasonbell08:07:34

Morning friends

guy08:07:58

Morning all!

yogidevbear08:07:42

Morning friends and Jade 😉

agile_geek08:07:02

What’s Jade then? Arch enemy?

yogidevbear08:07:42

I never said that 😇

yogidevbear08:07:58

How is everyone doing this fine morning?

jasonbell08:07:41

grandarama, you?

guy08:07:26

I’m feeling 85% better today 😄

👍 16
dominicm08:07:42

but still ps4 day?

yogidevbear08:07:29

What's ps4 day?

yogidevbear08:07:14

I must admit, having a child at home for 6 weeks while the schools are on holiday is going to drive me batty

😂 4
facepalm 4
jasonbell09:07:39

It's nine weeks in Northern Ireland, 12 weeks in the republic, you sir have it easy. 🙂

guy08:07:39

Thats why after school clubs were invented!

dominicm08:07:34

6 weeks of summer is really after school? 😄

guy08:07:35

hey im still 15% sick, i got most of that sentence right

alexlynham08:07:07

I have plaster dust in my lungs

alexlynham08:07:11

but a song in my heart

alexlynham08:07:29

and python lambdas in my buffer ^_^

guy08:07:05

my parents used to send us to grandparents for like 4 weeks at summer time

guy08:07:15

now as a parent, i think this is a great idea

😂 4
💯 4
yogidevbear08:07:25

Main issue is that both sets of grandparents live about 10000mi away

guy08:07:20

I see no problem with this. 👀

mccraigmccraig08:07:50

wear a mask @alex.lynham, sux in the heat, but that dust stuff ain't good for you

👆 4
alexlynham09:07:41

yeah too late, had three days in the house and I'm 💀

alexlynham09:07:03

you're 100% right though, kicking myself for not thinking of it

manas_marthi10:07:16

Good morning all

thomas10:07:10

we just had a fire alarm... probably the most exciting thing that is going to happen today.

thomas10:07:45

nothing seemed to have happened though.

thomas10:07:49

🔥 🚒

3Jane11:07:07

Side note re dust, air purifiers are winning. Especially good if you have dust allergies, but I found it helped me heal quicker when I was sick in the winter. (I caught colds a lot, so in the end, in desperation I got a purifier.) (Mine’s got an UV evil invader killing thingy, but perhaps it was simply less dust = less aggravation for lungs)

firthh11:07:02

I got one recently as well and sleep with it on. But I’m not sure which of the air purifier, massive clean of my bedroom (including washing curtains), changing hayfever drugs, or changing weather that has made me feel better

3Jane11:07:14

science calls. buy a small pine, bring it into the room XD

guy12:07:26

@lady3janepl what does the small pine do?

guy12:07:32

I might get one

3Jane12:07:07

a small pine fits in a room

3Jane12:07:16

pines in general produce a crap ton of pollen

3Jane12:07:58

if the weather’s changed and the room’s clean, the only option to decrease the number of changes is to introduce pollen manually 😉

3Jane12:07:28

(but if you’re looking for purifier recs, the one I have is https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00BJQLS2S/ )

firthh13:07:05

I’m quite happy with it

3Jane13:07:07

that looks very nice 🙂

alexlynham11:07:40

interesting...

thomas12:07:48

I just pushed some new code on to prod... but for some reason, I still seem to be running the old version

3Jane12:07:38

plot twist: you forgot to flip the colour

thomas13:07:51

I have no clue what could have gone wrong... when I run master locally it works... but when I run the docker containers with the new version tag on prod it doesn't

thomas13:07:01

I just don't get it

3Jane14:07:40

are you by any chance reliant on latest in any place?

firthh14:07:03

You could run docker pull image:tag in prod and locally and double check they’re the same using the sha digest docker prints

yogidevbear14:07:43

I suspect I'll get little-to-no uptake on this question, but 🙂 Are there any Atom users around? I wanted to install paredit, but the plugin says deprecated so wanted to know what other Atom users were making use of (e.g. lisp-paredit vs atom-paredit vs ???)

rhinocratic14:07:33

Morning.

👋 4
rhinocratic14:07:55

@yogidevbear I use Atom with parinfer. It lacks the slurp/barf capabilities of paredit, but it works pretty well for me.

thomas14:07:22

@yogidevbear I use Atom as well with parinfer, one of the reasons I started using Atom and I quite like it.

thomas14:07:49

@lady3janepl no, we don't use latest. we tag them with the maven version.

thomas14:07:08

@firthh I like your idea. let me give that a try.

dominicm14:07:53

@yogidevbear you have the best option in the world: parinfer.

🙂 4
agile_geek14:07:07

I’ll stick with paredit

spacemacs 4
emacs 8
yogidevbear14:07:54

Cool, thanks for the feedback 🙂

seancorfield14:07:56

I have both parinfer and one of the paredit plugins installed -- per Jason Gilman's "opinionated" guide.

seancorfield15:07:41

I can give you more details when I'm at my desk later today (off to the hospital again this morning tho').

alexlynham15:07:20

what's the difference between paredit and parinfer?

seancorfield17:07:23

It's explained best on the parinfer website but the basic idea is that it links parens and indentation so you can adjust one and it will auto-adjust the other.

seancorfield17:07:51

I found it a bit odd at first but quickly got used to it and I love it now.

seancorfield17:07:08

I still use paredit (as well) for structural editing stuff.

alexlynham21:07:38

interesting… will dig into it more 🙂

alexlynham15:07:30

I'm hardly a power user of paredit but it works well for me

ericnormand16:07:41

hey everybody! does anyone know of some junior Clojure positions available in he UK?

dominicm17:07:41

@ericnormand JUXT are always hiring in London and Milton Keynes. https://juxt.pro/careers.html has some info about the roles.

seancorfield17:07:23

It's explained best on the parinfer website but the basic idea is that it links parens and indentation so you can adjust one and it will auto-adjust the other.
