morning!

jasonbell06:07:13

Morning friends

alexlynham08:07:24

goooooood morning

agile_geek08:07:34

your greeting sounds far to jolly for 9:30 on a Thursday! πŸ˜‰

alexlynham08:07:15

thursday is nearly friday!

alexlynham08:07:22

I'm working on side code at the weekend!

alexlynham08:07:28

what's not to like?!

3Jane08:07:49

…Vietnam?

πŸ‘ 16
thomas08:07:22

nah.... I can't smell any napalm.

πŸ”₯ 4
agile_geek08:07:10

Ooooooh my god it’s early!

flefik08:07:19

i love the smell of napalm in the morning

alexlynham09:07:31

@dominicm did you say you'd used datomic ions?

dominicm09:07:43

No, I just checked it out and it looked very neat.

dominicm09:07:04

We've built a not-quite-as-good deployment system, so I'd love to use it from that perspective.

alexlynham09:07:44

I guess if you're not using datomic probably 'vanilla' (lol) serverless would work better, idk

dominicm09:07:29

We're using datomic, yeah.

dominicm09:07:37

Do you mean the js serverless framework?

alexlynham10:07:40

but equally just vanilla serverless components like lambda etc

alexlynham10:07:54

I just happen to like the simple deployments you get with serverless

alexlynham10:07:01

(the framework)

dominicm10:07:03

I had a lot of horrible pain with nodejs, I'm so "over it"

alexlynham11:07:10

yeah I hate the fact that everything is callbacks

alexlynham11:07:31

callbacks and async are a tool to be used responsibly and appropriately

alexlynham09:07:52

also who else here is planning on clojurex?

πŸ‘‹ 12
alexlynham09:07:08

can't decide whether to get an early bird or just volunteer for the freebie

thomas09:07:54

I am planning on going to ClojureX

πŸ‘ 20
jasonbell09:07:00

Only to heckle

πŸ‘Ώ 4
thomas10:07:04

are there other reasons to go to ClojureX Jade?

jasonbell10:07:39

Plenty Thamos, hecking Jade's is only a 30 minute venture.

agile_geek10:07:11

I just follow you around heckling you all day Jade 😜

jasonbell10:07:57

@agile_geek Yes but the error you're making is saying these heckles verbally, I can't hear you. πŸ˜‰ Try using the internet

πŸ˜‚ 4
agile_geek10:07:42

Internet? Is that one of them there new fangled telegraph thingies? πŸ‘΄

jasonbell10:07:26

Look @agile_geek I know what Wallsend is like, we've progressed from baked bean tins and string a long while ago πŸ™‚

thomas10:07:45

@jasonbell just 30 minutes... I think you have just set me a challenge... πŸ˜‰

jasonbell10:07:39

@thomas With all due respect, we're friends and all that, but you didn't last 30 seconds let alone 30 minutes.

thomas10:07:02

good point... I forgot about that.

guy10:07:02

πŸ‘€

πŸ˜‚ 12
jasonbell11:07:02

@thomas and remember we have the footage to prove it. LOL

agile_geek12:07:06

If you're going to heckle... you need stamina!

guy13:07:34

you should do a lightning talk on how to heckle

guy13:07:40

I would attend

guy13:07:02

and maybe best practices / style guide to heckling too

jasonbell16:07:23

Is @thomas the right person to deliver this talk, first of all (as far as I'm aware) he's only heckled one person... me. And I only gave that 2 out of 10 πŸ™‚

guy16:07:08

They say you learn best when you teach

guy16:07:24

He could convert his 2/10 to maybe 4 or 5/10

guy16:07:27

πŸ˜‚

jasonbell16:07:43

Or maybes 3! πŸ™‚

jasonbell16:07:11

@thomas is a lovely person and he knows I'm joking.....

thomas17:07:58

2 out of 10!!! damn... I need to practise some more.

thomas17:07:33

hmm and gramarly can't work out of it should be practise or practice (I never know which one it is)

jasonbell17:07:03

use either, it's between friends.... and I won't judge, well not until December πŸ™‚

guy18:07:38

πŸ˜‚

thomas13:07:52

I think we just established I am no good at heckling...

guy13:07:15

It could work a bit like chaos monkey? And heckle the app / slow it down and break it?

thomas13:07:42

like sending fake messages around the system?

dominicm14:07:55

fake loading screens

guy14:07:13

I asked Jfrog, the people that run https://jcenter.bintray.com to mirror or proxy http://repo.clojars.org a while ago. It looks like they have done it. So now my team can access all our jars from inside the corporate firewall, yay. Can anyone else confirm this is working for them as clojars mirror?
