Bore da
mornings!

Yay - my inbox will go back to normal, 90% of services I’ve accidentally subscribed to will go quiet - it’s a good day.
Still waiting for news of a Facebook lawsuit…
The only sad GDPR thing I’ve seen is that it was sorely screwing up some researchers at UCL - they have huge research datasets based on github data, and real headaches working out how/if they can anonymise them. Their lawyers basically said “research on code metrics was not the usage that github users signed up for, so you can’t store their details”
Recital 29 and Art 6(4) allows use of data for purposes beyond those given during collection if it is properly pseudonymized for some use cases
https://iapp.org/news/a/top-10-operational-impacts-of-the-gdpr-part-8-pseudonymization/
I think “public data” only works if it’s used for the purposes that the original user intended. I don’t know - I am not a lawyer; UCL did have a lawyer and that was his advice - anonymisation I think was their main hope.
just do a 1 way hash of the name (so that you can fetch new data and still have it match up)
Ooh nice @mccraigmccraig Whatcha got?
canyon spectral... al only, couldn't justify carbon - i can lose that much lard quite quickly if the weight difference bugs me
that fork tube looks toasted!
Shop is seeing if the manufacturer still makes them. If not I'll get some third party one. Just needs to be carbon and have disc mounts. Same colour scheme would be nice, but there's not many matte bikes out there 😕
Erm... morning. 😳
Just wondering whether anyone has yet had a shruggie carved on their tombstone.
Just spent a day fighting CSS, so existential dread is high in my mind, too. If Danté had written his Divine Comedy this decade, he would surely have allocated an extra circle of hell whose denizens must spend eternity fixing scrolling issues.
It's the weekeeeeeeend, baby!
