Morning. We're still in the Lake District Really enjoying it. How is everyone doing this morning?
on a train from hastings up to the smoke π
Which bit of the Lakes? We were at Windermere last weekend with the dog. He was loving the swimming
@carr0t we're at lake Windermere, near Ambleside
This weekend was less interesting, as I was mostly playing Elite: Dangerous with friends π
is it good @carr0t ? i put Β£50 into the crowdfund, but have signally failed to play it yet
Heh. Well, I've sunk hundreds of hours into it over the past few years and still enjoy it
But I can't argue with people who say it's not very 'deep', or that it's a massive grind. I'm enjoying it primarily because I have a good group of folks some of whom I know in the real world too who I play with and chat on Discord while playing etc
If I was just playing on my own I think I'd have got bored long ago. It is still sometimes good to play solo occasionally though
If you ever do boot it up feel free to add me. It's easier to experience the game if you head in to try things with a larger ship as backup/defense
Hi @otfrom! hahah, this is probably my third login to clojurians but this time I'll stick to it!
Hello everyone!
By the way: anyone interested in reviving the Wednesday Clojurians Borough Market lunches?
There still seems to be quite a big concentration of Clojure companies with uSwitch, Funding Circle, Health Unlocked, Agents Mutual, and YouView around
anyone that I've missed?
and signal !
yapster @aleksander, although we are only ever around london on mondays
If it was a Tuesday/Thursday Iβd be interestedβ¦
@dev964 see https://juxt.pro/clojure-in.html for a subset of ldn companies..
It's actually quite grey right now, but I work right next to some giant glass windows on the 4th floor that face the sun for most of the working day, so it gets quite warm quite easily
Um. Not sure what you're looking for really π It's got good public transport (Trams mainly, bus sometimes if trams are busted or you're further out), good shopping and other amenities that you'd expect from a big city, without being anything like as large as London or Birmingham
I'm a country boy by heart, so living on the outskirts of Mancs is about as city as I can comfortably get

By the time I moved here I was a bit old to want to be heading out clubbing of a weekend, but apparently it's quite good for that. Got a small chinatown, good selection of good restaurants all over the place
The Christmas markets each year are good. The roads are horrible and full of potholes, but they've just allocated a chunk of cash to try and fix that and are also building more in the way of cycleways etc which is good for me
But the roads and traffic really are rubbish. Though London traffic is still much worse again
it has great countryside (the peak district is ace)... much better than anywhere in the SE
