Hello all 👋

maleghast14:12:56

Hello everyone 🙂 I just wanted to make a big public thank you to everyone who helped me out with the prototype that I was working on. Delivering it on time, which was in no small part down to the amazing support and help I received from the community here, both in terms of actual help and general cheerleading, has according to my CEO who I spoke to this morning, had a material impact on securing a large investment. You guys are super awesome and the living proof that this community rocks. THANK YOU! 🎉 ❤️ 🎉 parrot mario-star parrot

cool @maleghast - what's the company / product ?

maleghast14:12:16

Also, as stated in person at Clojure Exchange to some people, I do__ want to pay it forward - if you have need of help in the future and think I can help, please ask. Also available to cheer on anyone who needs a cheering squad in dark times 🙂

maleghast14:12:57

@mccraigmccraig - Our company is called Cervest (https://cervest.com) and the product we are starting to formalise is a “dashboard” type application for us to surface / communicate the risk assessment / management analysis we do for customers - i.e. it’s the “thing what they log into to see our analysis of their supply chains etc.”

maleghast14:12:06

It’s not a “public-facing” product, as such, so it’s not got a name (at the moment), though internally it’s “DecisionVest”, portmanteau words being a “thing” for us (the company name is Ceres + Harvest)

danm14:12:45

What is it with Clojure being used in the agriculture industry a lot

danm14:12:51

I seem to see it all over the place

maleghast14:12:08

Data, lots of data @carr0t and Clojure be likin

maleghast14:12:16

@carr0t - Though to be honest I would probably have tried to use Clojure on whatever I did next.

danm14:12:03

Indeed. It's why it's a nice pairing with Kafka for us

maleghast14:12:13

I can see that 🙂

thomas14:12:03

@maleghast congrats first of all and thank you for your kind words!!! And yes, this community is awesome!!!

jasonbell14:12:30

@maleghast Nice one! Looks interesting too. Congrats

maleghast14:12:33

Hopefully having more than half the round now complete will tempt the last big fish into the round and we can close and move forward.

maleghast14:12:53

I have lots of refactoring to do, naturally.

practicalli-johnny15:12:31

@maleghast sounds like a promising talk for ClojureX :)

jasonbell15:12:06

Oh yeah, another proposal to do…… That’s my Christmas hols sorted out.

maleghast15:12:12

@jr0cket - Possibly… I would like there to be more to the story first… Let’s talk e/o Q1 next year, if there’s enough meat on it by that point I’m in.
