nods to confirm that it is indeed morning

jonpither07:09:09

@yogidevbear where is your talk happening

yogidevbear08:09:11

At a ColdFusion conference in Munich. (Feels a little better that it's not to a knowledgeable Clojure audience šŸ˜‰)

mccraigmccraig08:09:54

only about 15k lines

chrjs09:09:39

Morninā€™

thomas10:09:26

moin moin...

thomas10:09:44

@mccraigmccraig how is your eye doing? recovered?

mccraigmccraig10:09:09

hey @thomas yes thanks - retina still properly attached and i can see just fine šŸ‘ļø

thomas11:09:38

@mccraigmccraig Glad to hear that you (and your eye) are doing well!

dominicm13:09:12

I feel inclined to ask randomly after people's limbs. @maleghast how's your forearm?

maleghast13:09:36

Good thanks, @dominicm. How is your left index finger?

danielneal13:09:28

just wanna confirm that my left index finger is fine

paulspencerwilliams13:09:12

Are these arm / hand welfare checked related to Emacs?

dominicm13:09:45

My left index finger is fine, thanks for asking

yogidevbear13:09:47

Anyone having issues with their frenulum?

maleghast13:09:14

I am off to do the school run and meet with one of my daughterā€™s teachersā€¦ I will see you all laterā€¦

danielneal13:09:41

break a frenulum

mccraigmccraig13:09:47

be careful @dominicm lest i post a pic of what my eye looked like last year šŸ˜¬

maleghast14:09:12

Hello again, all šŸ™‚

maleghast15:09:09

I am assuming that you have all seen this: https://youtu.be/LEZv-kQUSi4

maleghast15:09:26

I laughed, a lot

maleghast15:09:52

I say @mccraigmccraig - glad to hear that your eye is better FWIW

dominicm15:09:32

@maleghast the date on that is weirdā€¦ it's an older talk afaik.

mccraigmccraig15:09:51

no pics then @dominicm , but you could always google "vitrectomy" šŸ™‚

dominicm15:09:18

nopenopenope

mccraigmccraig15:09:27

a thing both terrifying and amazing

dominicm15:09:34

Well, if it's amazing too

dominicm15:09:49

I still cringe about my arthoscopy.

maleghast15:09:46

Vitrectomy, eh? Fascinating, but Iā€™m with @dominicm, particularly knowing what that is I donā€™t need to see itā€¦ šŸ˜‰

maleghast15:09:09

Changing the subject for a momentā€¦ Is there an emerging standard for GraphQL in Clojure..?

dominicm15:09:18

Lacinia is very popular right now. However, I personally don't entirely trust walmart for long-term support of a library. Alumbra is very interesting to me, by the author of rewrite-clj. We have used graphql-clj in the past too, but uh, it doesn't use spec so it isn't cool, or something like thatā€¦ no good technical reasoning.

dominicm15:09:15

I think graphql-clj used to be a little behind the graphql spec & lacinia had something it didn't have yet, or something like that. But I also think that gap has closed nowā€¦

maleghast15:09:40

Have Walmart made Lacinia fully open source..?

maleghast15:09:28

I am going to check all three out, but if Lacinia is fully open source then the second Walmart fail to keep on top of things itā€™s a quick trip to Fork City!

maleghast15:09:04

And ā€œthanksā€ @dominicm šŸ™‚

sundarj15:09:52

lacinia is fully open source as far as i can tell. as for walmart labs' record, https://github.com/hapijs/hapi was originally a walmart labs project until Eran Hammer left

dominicm16:09:23

hapi's fate is what has put me off. It seems (from the outside) that the projects are pioneered by an individual, not the organization.

dominicm16:09:32

However, we are using it successfully.

sundarj16:09:31

i see what you mean, though i don't personally think that's an issue. a project being too heavily tied to an org often leads to problems
