not too shabby I must say old boy

actionshrimp08:08:30

I was reading a bit more about Reason last night, I wonder if you can use it with react native

actionshrimp08:08:32

I'm guessing so

actionshrimp08:08:44

probably brings a whole new world of toolchain pain 😄

actionshrimp08:08:02

is new pain is good pain?

danielneal08:08:34

mm I reckon it's probably good though because it's all facebook

danielneal08:08:46

they'll be more motivated to get things in alignment

danielneal08:08:35

at the moment the react native packager (now metro bundler) takes about 10 mins to process the js output from clojurescript, but I'm guessing if it was doing that for reason they'd allocate some smart peeps to look at it

actionshrimp08:08:52

for production builds?

actionshrimp08:08:15

I guess if the dev cycle is quick tho thats bearable

chrjs10:08:57

Morning

danielneal10:08:59

just edged in there, @chrjs 😄

danielneal10:08:39

:mind_blown:

chrjs11:08:04

Welcome to the fold.

maleghast11:08:27

UGT is a great thing, especially when people are all over… 🙂

maleghast11:08:40

Speaking of which, Morning Everyone ! 🙂

thomas11:08:32

morning 😼 mogge

danielneal11:08:30

morning otfrom!

danielneal11:08:41

how's the move going

otfrom11:08:34

everything went yesterday. all cleaned. landladies happy. everything arrived in Dundee this morning (received by my wife). I fly up on Friday.

danielneal11:08:47

nice! sounds like it went pretty smooth 🙂

otfrom11:08:34

everyone survived which is the important thing 😄

maleghast11:08:11

Nice one - moving house is HARD work

otfrom11:08:23

Dunnottar looks a bit like Dunluce in Norn Iron https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunluce_Castle

jasonbell12:08:34

Oh we loves Dunluce, just twenty minutes away from me.

otfrom12:08:55

@jasonbell you smuggle in chapman sticks that way don't you?

Rachel Westmacott12:08:18

While actually an abandoned monastery rather than a castle, I can recommend https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skellig_Michael for it’s remote beauty.

jasonbell12:08:19

Via the Spanish armada

jasonbell12:08:51

@otfrom Importing Chapman Stick’s is a costly business (Import duty + VAT) 😞

jasonbell12:08:51

Adds another £700-800 on top of the retail price plus joyous currency fluctuations

actionshrimp13:08:42

definitely afternoon now, just didnt want to miss out on the group-morning sesh. it's rapidly becoming a high point of my day 😄 Also: TIL about UGT

otfrom13:08:15

@jasonbell that is why you are smuggling them in with the Onion Knight via Dunluce (cue Jade saying he doesn't watch GoT)

otfrom13:08:56

@peterwestmacott I like all the Irish medieval monks who would find an island like that, get some vikings moving in, the monks would write down how annoyed they were and then go to an even more remote island.

jasonbell13:08:17

The last knights I was aware of said, “Ni”

mccraigmccraig13:08:20

i thought they stopped saying "Ni" @jasonbell ?

jasonbell13:08:12

They did, that’s true….

otfrom14:08:28

@thomas you have more of an excuse. It isn't like it is being filmed in your backyard. I think @jasonbell is the only person in NI who hasn't worked on it

jasonbell14:08:25

Yup, only me and a labrador called Gerald who haven’t worked on it, Gerald has seen it though.

actionshrimp14:08:06

didn't you see the dragons flying overhead on their way to the set?

jasonbell14:08:02

NOW YOU MENTION IT @actionshrimp …… no.

danielneal14:08:41

who's gonna take care of hugs at mastodonc now otfrom is moving to dundee? Do you have a remote hug solution?

jasonbell14:08:05

clj-hug seems like a do-able solution

jasonbell14:08:20

could make it a web service with Yada etc

danielneal14:08:31

that sounds good I'll help with beta testing

otfrom14:08:17

@danieleneal I don't hug people at MC. Well, people I employ anyway.

danielneal14:08:36

ah I see a misunderstanding

danielneal14:08:47

I don't know where I got that idea from

thomas14:08:02

but @jasonbell are you sure that hugs are RESTful?

thomas14:08:18

if not Yada won't be any good...

thomas14:08:42

maybe you can stream them and use kafka/onyx to build a pipeline?
