nope... the highest 'hill' I have to climb each day while cycling is about 30 cm max (a bridge).

rather strangely, I think one of the bridges here in Gouda over one of the main canals is probably the highest point.

and the water level being higher as well as the surrounding land :thinking_face:

last time there was a major problem was in 1953.

presumably if you blew up one of the banks of the canal the resulting flood wouldn't be very deep, but you also wouldn't want to get in the way while the water was settling

I suspect not... the actual amount of water in the canal isn't that much. so yes, the level of flooding would be rather limited. and I suspect they would close some sluices etc. and the canal would be empty rather quickly.

but I am not going to give it a try!
