morning 😼 mogge

thomas07:06:35

@mccraigmccraig have you started going to the gym?

thomas08:06:43

it's a start 😉

mccraigmccraig09:06:53

it's gonna take quite a lot to overcome my entrenched dislike of gyms @thomas

maleghast09:06:32

Morning All!

thomas09:06:35

@mccraigmccraig I don't blame you... I'd rather just walk the stairs. much cheaper.

mccraigmccraig09:06:59

i like mountain biking atm - uphills make me work and downhills make me forget everything except this moment right now - probably not much of an option for you in NL though @thomas ?

thomas09:06:55

nope... the highest 'hill' I have to climb each day while cycling is about 30 cm max (a bridge).

thomas09:06:08

the little bridge in the middle of the pic.

mccraigmccraig09:06:29

ha, strava told me i climbed 700m yesterday 🙂

thomas09:06:03

so in about in about 4 years time I will have done the equivalent 😉

mccraigmccraig09:06:56

you could build a second bridge alongside and do lots of small circles!

thomas09:06:03

hmmmm.... yes.. I could 😉

thomas09:06:22

rather strangely, I think one of the bridges here in Gouda over one of the main canals is probably the highest point.

thomas09:06:51

and the water level being higher as well as the surrounding land

thomas09:06:41

not quite sure if this picture makes that clear:

mccraigmccraig09:06:57

it seems like a recipe for disaster @thomas 😨

thomas09:06:25

last time there was a major problem was in 1953.

thomas09:06:21

but I have to admit, each time I see it freaks me out a bit.

thomas09:06:39

(I am originally not from this part of the country)

mccraigmccraig09:06:23

presumably if you blew up one of the banks of the canal the resulting flood wouldn't be very deep, but you also wouldn't want to get in the way while the water was settling

thomas09:06:51

I suspect not... the actual amount of water in the canal isn't that much. so yes, the level of flooding would be rather limited. and I suspect they would close some sluices etc. and the canal would be empty rather quickly.

thomas09:06:00

but I am not going to give it a try!

glenjamin12:06:29

anyone know where I can find some decent working examples of making elastic beanstalk apps via terraform?

maleghast13:06:42

@glenjamin - I am afraid that I can't but if someone else on here does help you out, could you "tag" me so that I will learn, please?

keithmantell18:06:47

@thomas You could always start a paddy field

thomas19:06:35

@keithmantell we tend to grow other things here... 😉
