hey, hows life at the continent?
well, now you can sit there and gloat as little-england slowly commits suicide.
there is no stopping it now, its like a Kafka novel where a country willingly chops off its legs.
every day slightly worse and more bizarre than the previous
It’s fine!!
“We won’t be able to start negotiating any trade deals until after we leave, and paid our 2.3 trillon £ divorce bill” <— This is fine!
@martintrojer that would be schadenfreude....
Morning..stop depressing me and talk Clojure people 😉
but first... some tea (you can take a Dutchman out of of England... but you can't take the Englishness he has acquired out if him)
@thomas I've shipped two changes to prod already and 3rd and 4th are on their way today.
might not sound impressive but I spent 18 months at my previous client without shipping anything to production!
Mine was the special “It’s fine"
The "A nuclear device has detonated within 1 mile of me but if I duck and cover I'll be fine" - It's fine?
Morning
Morning.
That's the one! Sitting at a burning bar fine.
I don’t think I’ve shipped anything further than public beta for about 2 years. It’s rediculous
is that because the products you've been working on are in permanent beta @glenjamin ?
it’s been three different jobs, the left the first couple because they kept making excuses for not moving past beta
don't worry too much @glenjamin I worked on a few projects that didn't ship/got canned over the years. Eventually you'll find something that will work for you (I hope your current one does)
@glenjamin as you know in my previous client I never wrote production code....as gatekeeper of code quality I simply wrote exemplars that other dev's cut and pasted so they could pass my code reviews! 😉
For those of you who haven't already bought your tickets to Clojure eXchange on the 1st and 2nd December https://skillsmatter.com/conferences/7430-clojure-exchange-2016 - I have good news and bad news: Bad news: the tickets just went up to full price Good news: as you know one of the organisers 😉 you get to use the following code for a 30% discount: CLOJUREX_SPECIAL_SLK_30
Bloody brexit raising prices of tickets as well as Macs hehe
Wat! I didn’t know about the discount. Luckily my company is paying.
@paulspencerwilliams SkillsMatter whipped up a discount for me about 1pm when they heard I was posting stuff in Slack so it's only just existed
hehe, k
how about a :dancing_bruce: next @thomas ?
conf highlight of the year starts tmo
