@elise_huard yes there is such a thing on java… have a google, as I can’t remember either 😉

Good morning

agile_geek12:09:18

Anyone got a suggested project for me while I'm hunting for contracts? Open source?

agile_geek12:09:54

@mccraigmccraig bit of both but something to give me focus and look good on CV would be nice 😄

thomas12:09:59

@agile_geek have a play with Onyx

thomas12:09:15

that is what I would like to do...

agile_geek12:09:00

@thomas: did quite a bit of that when at Mastodon C earlier in year but I need a real project to apply it to really get to grips with it.

thomas12:09:20

ok, makes sense.

thomas12:09:49

(I wouldn’t know what to do with it either I’d have to admit)

benedek12:09:02

rewrite cider repl on comint mode @agile_geek ?

mccraigmccraig12:09:16

clojure or anything @agile_geek ?

benedek12:09:21

no idea how that looks on CV :D

agile_geek12:09:52

@benedek; not sure I even understand that!

benedek12:09:25

so sounds fun, right? ;)

agile_geek12:09:41

@benedek it might if I understood what an earth it was? What's comint mode?

benedek12:09:38

it is an emacs thing for shell like things.

benedek12:09:59

sql mode uses it for example afaik

agile_geek16:09:06

@benedek I've read and re-read the issue but I really don't have any clue what it's on about so this is definitely well beyond my abilities or knowledge.

agile_geek16:09:28

Maybe if I had 2 years!

jonpither17:09:12

it's a very old issue. A big complaint of ppl moving from the old swank Clojure stuff was that if you put your cursor at the end of the nrepl-server buffer, it would stay there and keep pace with incoming buffer appends

jonpither17:09:31

not sure that the deal with CIDER and this (I'm so lazy, I can't bring myself to check)

benedek19:09:16

probably was a bad idea @agile_geek sry. it is somewhat a nefarious issue. basically the REPL buffer/functions in cider is all custom code. there is a 'standard' for such things in emacs: comint mode. so it would be nice to rewrite the REPL stuff using comint.

If there's any London Clojurians free tomorrow afternoon to help me out at CodeNode, there's a ComputerWeekly@50 event where we (the london clojure group) have a stand. Yeah, short notice for me too! Any support would be hugely helpful. I've even produced a pull up banner. Just greeting folks and telling them about dojos and stuff

malcolmsparks19:09:44

If you can, just say you're staff at the door and come in to the exhibition area and look for the clojure logo.

malcolmsparks19:09:18

I think the rest of the London FP community will be there too (splitters!)
