Argh… I have a piece of code with weird UTF8 characters and the C# compiler has no problem with it but TeX does 😞

glenjamin10:07:19

Did you ever see that Knuth interview where he talks about TeX?

glenjamin10:07:29

I lost most of the respect I had for him at that point

glenjamin10:07:51

he talks about how he thought so much about it, and how even though it has no tests, it’s still fine

glenjamin10:07:57

and it doesn’t need to change anymore

Pablo Fernandez10:07:11

I need something to produce a sort-of book.

Pablo Fernandez10:07:32

I really don’t want to use Word, but it’s looking like the only workable solution.

minimal11:07:50

are you using plain tex/latex or Xetex / luatex. Xetex/Xelatex/luatex seem to handle UTF8 better

korny15:07:36

We've been doing docs in asciidoc, I'm quite liking it as a rather more powerful alternative to markdown.

korny15:07:59

Leanpub do their books in markdown from memory.

glenjamin20:07:15

gitbook is supposed to be pretty good

dominicm21:07:09

Yada docs are written in asciidoc
