Hi all, Apologies for posting in English, hope that is OK. I am a core contributor to the Moodle open source Learner Management System as used by 350 million+ users around the world. I recently became very interested in Clojure and am going to be working on a project in Clojure / ClojureScript for language learning (starting with helping English speakers learn Polish). I just moved to beautiful Krakow. It'd be really cool to meet other Clojure developers in Kraków if any of you fancied grabbing a beer together. @dj942 and I got together at Techies the other day while he was visiting town and that was a blast. I don’t use WhatsApp. FB accepted. The easiest way to contact with me is slack. Only one place where I have notifications turned on. Heh yeah I really like nature and activity. Even right now I try to catch up live, photos from yesterday. (this is not Poland) I was trying to meet clojurians in Poland, but remember it is niche language. Especially in Poland.
Feel free to write if you need anything
I live in Wrocław. Feel free to write to me if you will be there.
I added you on FB following a link from your web page. You like hiking like me? I think it is a great balance for alone focused screen time to get out in the forest with a few friends, I do a lot of this. I will have transport soon and want to get out and see more of Poland. Would love to meet Clojure developers wherever. And this is me on FB: https://www.facebook.com/jamie.robert.pratt/ Here's a link to my WhatsApp, my preferred messaging app at the mo, feel free to add me and say hello. https://wa.me/48505206918
Krakow used to have a Clojure meetup that has been on a bit of hiatus in the post-covid times :)
I would love to grab a beer and hear more about your project; I’ll be sure to ping you when I get back to Krakow… end of the month ;)
hi @pithyless, that'd be great. I look forward to hearing from you.
"Krakow used to have a Clojure meetup that has been on a bit of hiatus in the post-covid times :)" That's a pity! What kind of numbers were attending pre covid? I didn't really expect there to be a Clojure users group here, not sure why because there seems to be about everything else here in this cool town.
I managed to organize 6 events before lockdown, plus Andrzej Fricze organized an online one. The meet.js events in Kraków attracted over a 100 eager developers, so I'm not sure we count as a legitimate user group... but there were at least a couple of Clojurians in town ;) https://www.meetup.com/krakow-clojurians/events/past/
Nice "EuroClojure 2014" was held in Krakow. Wasn't aware of that. I joined the meetup group. I'd be very happy to help out with organisation in any way I can.
