I’m sure you’re choosing to visit Norway just because you’ve heard that we organize our Oslo Clojure Lunch at our most convenient downtown Indian restaurant 🙂
Also, if you visit Norway without saying hello, I will forever never again appear on defn. You could see that as a threat or a promise 🙂
I guess I’ve to start my Norwegian adventure from Oslo then
But seriously, tell us what you’re looking for, and I’m sure we can point you in the correct directions.
The rough idea is to drive to Oslo - stay there for a few days and then venture towards north with camping gear and my dog for a few days of "off-grid"
This is the first time I'm planning to camp - Being in NL - there is no place that can be even remotely considered remote.
Am I being too ambitious or is it doable for lowland people like me ?
You should check out https://english.dnt.no/ if you’re planning on hiking in the mountains. They have some good trips that you can take.
I personally love Romsdalen https://www.google.com/maps/place/6300+Åndalsnes,+Norge/@62.5605629,7.6723715,14z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x46140975ceac056b:0x6b1aa68194195acd!8m2!3d62.5674461!4d7.68722!16zL20vMDUxczFw?entry=ttu, you could call it the alps of Norway
Of course if you want to go off-grid, then hiking in either Jotunheimn or Rondane is the thing to do, weather depending.
Thank you! Romsdalen looks beautiful I'm looking at dnt and also http://ut.no for the hiking trials
Is the Airbnb the best way to find accommodation or is there any local sites that I should use?
Don’t know. I stayed at https://www.lensmansgarden.no last time I was in Romsdalen. It was ok.
You can rent cabins at dnt. https://english.dnt.no/booking/
And https://bakgardenthai.no has surprisingly good thai food 🙂
Thai food in Norway - unexpected ☺️
