Coworker went to AmsterdamRB yesterday. This was a gift, here are my favorite picks :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

Love the mongo one

Kevin12:12:36

I do have a hexadecimal tattoo, does that count?

yannvahalewyn12:12:40

Ik lig echt al een half uur in een deuk door die mongo db one, was zo onverwacht haha

yannvahalewyn12:12:07

> I do have a hexadecimal tattoo, does that count? If it means you donā€™t have to memorize ssh keys anymore then sure šŸ™‚

thomas12:12:12

@kevin.van.rooijen we need proof

šŸ‘ 4
borkdude12:12:10

You can add .edn file as a db to that

yannvahalewyn12:12:18

yeah I would pick the latter I think, I would cheat and use datahike

Kevin12:12:08

Andre12:12:16

I did miss a card: ā€œnaturalā€ direction scrolling vs ā€œnormalā€ direction scrolling

Kevin12:12:39

It my password to everything guys, please donā€™t steal

yannvahalewyn12:12:18

@andre.abelmann nice one! There are a few blank ones, we can make it

thomas13:12:27

besides being your password everywhere @kevin.van.rooijen what other significance does that number have for you?

Kevin13:12:44

I actually canā€™t share that

thomas13:12:54

fair enough

yannvahalewyn13:12:54

Any CTF guys in here?

thomas13:12:15

looks cool though

Kevin13:12:20

Because a colleague of mine is still trying to figure it out (or well, he probably gave up)

Kevin13:12:26

But heā€™s also lurking in this chat

Mno13:12:44

I missed the ruby meetup because trains were slow šŸ˜

yannvahalewyn13:12:50

I tried too haha, in ascii itā€™s Z4ƌ. Probably not the solution

Kevin13:12:01

Itā€™s also missing a 4 at the end

Kevin13:12:04

which is not in the picture

yannvahalewyn13:12:25

ok, Z4ƌĀ¤ then

thomas13:12:34

this is the decimal in that case: 1513409700

Kevin13:12:42

If you figure it out, send me a DM

Kevin13:12:56

And Iā€™ll tell you the story šŸ™‚

yannvahalewyn13:12:16

Like a human CTF treasure hunt, wish I had the time for it šŸ™‚

borkdude13:12:44

is the ruby meetup fun (and is it about more than only ruby)?

borkdude13:12:05

and which ruby meetup is it

yannvahalewyn13:12:28

Like any other meetup, wasnā€™t there but apparently there was a talk about the hippocratic license which seemed interesting

Mno13:12:53

While most talks are generally directed at ruby people, the topics are really diverse.

Mno13:12:35

There was a talk about refactoring pure javascript in a component way (which was surprisingly interesting), a talk from a RedHat developer talking about a bunch of things, another about the entire http process, one about types of garbage collection.. etc

Mno13:12:25

I don't know what talks they had this time around

Mno13:12:12

It tends to be fun for me because I know a good portion of the community and I'm content with just having pizza.

But there are transactions in MongoDB now, i don't see what's wrong with it.. As long as you keep services simple, and properly update your non-existing schema as needed.

Mno15:12:24

I never disliked mongo, but it's a very use-case specific DB to me. Like Cassandra.

gklijs15:12:40

We use it for almost everything.

yannvahalewyn16:12:31

didnā€™t mean to offend, and I sure didnā€™t write the cards. I used it too once and it worked out fine. I just really really really enjoyed the joke šŸ˜Š
