morning.... calls... and making sure some code goes to production today... so no pressure.

helios08:12:12

job interview in utrecht ๐Ÿ˜‰

gklijs09:12:17

@helios good luck, is it for a Clojure job?

thomas09:12:58

if it is, let us know if they are looking for more people ๐Ÿ˜‰

borkdude10:12:45

The only Clojure company in Utrecht I know is BrightIn

thomas10:12:40

wasn't Alliander also based in Utrecht?

thomas10:12:55

but I think they stopped doing Clojure

arnout10:12:03

Indeed, and indeed ๐Ÿ™‚

arnout10:12:03

And Infi does some Clojure from time-to-time.

thomas10:12:37

so I heard that there is a company in The Hague doing some clojure...

thomas10:12:42

has anyone heard of...

borkdude10:12:42

no, but they are about privacy, so Iโ€™m not surprised

thomas10:12:58

hmm the Clojure job is gone from their webpage ๐Ÿ˜ž

gklijs11:12:01

I had an interview there, it's was pretty limited, two people working, most work was on the front-end, and the tool was basically to make it easier to keep track of privacy sensitive information.

thomas12:12:29

aah ok.. interesting @gklijs? so not really that much Clojure work then?

thomas12:12:40

was the front end at least in cljs ?

gklijs12:12:08

Yes, but Om, not even Om.next, might be something else now. But I had higher expectations, like adding some gdpr requirements 'as a service'.

chrisblom12:12:56

i saw a Clojure vacancy at Mediquest some time ago

thomas12:12:04

just looking at it... looks interesting.

thomas12:12:33

@gklijs hmm Om... that seems rather old-fashioned indeed.

gklijs12:12:36

They were considering moving to re-frame. Bit I had higher expectations of what they did. It might be a bit different now. There is much more to work than just the language.

hansw13:12:52

gklijs13:12:09

Clojure could be more fun than Java, and fun is definitely also important, but there also do much more things to work. As long as it's on the JVM I don't think career wise it matters a lot.

thomas13:12:03

@hans378 sad, but most likely true as well... I have been looking for a Clojure role the last 7(?) years and no luck yet.
