this is merely an artifact of the fact that clj symbols etc can be in any unicode-string

you can also use emoji 🙂

This insistance of speaking english is another example of Dutch disease 🙂 We like to show off how cosmopolitan we are by speaking poor English. It's also a trap for non-Dutch speakers. Because this way, they'll never learn Dutch and still be shut out of lots things in Dutch society.

Especially formal stuff, anything to do with law. then we all switch back to Dutch and the poor expat is left behind ...

as a note form an expat, i don't think I've ever met many Dutch who speak "poor" english 😛

try to be in italy for a bit and we'll discuss again about speaking poor english :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:
