What's the use of saying good morning in slack? I even dislike the habit face to face. As a team we are located near the coffee machine and lots of people we don't know feel the need to say good morning. Which can become quite irritating during development.
But your coffee machine is a synchronous moment while Slack is asynchronous so you can control when you wish to be interrupted
@gklijs it sounds like that is an argument for offices instead of open plan (which I assume is what you have) and personally I don't like open plan.
Yes, it’s kind of open plan, but we do have our own place. It’s not as bas as the place I worked before, it’s relatively quit, before we were on al large floor with about 50 people across 5 teams…
adding this to my 5:00 cron task: curl -X POST -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"text":"Good morning! Thanks @borkdude"}'
angle brackets 🙂
