Hi folks! I’m moving to amsterdam soon, and want to know how are things going with clojure there or around city: are there many clojure companies? who is hiring? are there any meetups I can attend?

gklijs11:02:12

There is a meet-up every month, https://www.meetup.com/The-Amsterdam-Clojure-Meetup-Group/ it doesn’t seem like there are many clojure companies, but there are quite some people in the clojure meetup group making money with clojure. I’m still stuck on java for making money though.

I think for non-remote Clojure work, Amsterdam is your best bet

borkdude11:02:09

@larhat Also at Dutch Clojure Days there might be a job market thing, not sure? At least you can talk to a lot of people there.

borkdude11:02:18

@larhat That is, if you have a ticket. It’s ‘sold’ out now.

lmergen11:02:55

i know there are at least 4 companies in Amsterdam doing a lot of Clojure work

larhat11:02:35

lmergen and what these companies are? I saw backbase in chat history, so I presume, it’s one of them

borkdude11:02:51

@larhat Adgoji, Elmar, Autheos, Studyflow.

borkdude11:02:18

Backbase is only hosting the meetup, not sure if they do anything with Clojure. @skuro knows

skuro11:02:53

yep, no Clojure at Backbase

skuro11:02:07

just friendly to the community

skuro11:02:11

they’re a Java shop

lmergen19:02:52

I think @skuro is getting Clojure going at his new gig as well :)

borkdude21:02:06

What’s the startup called again @skuro, Symple?
