We've been doing fairly well by opening windows and doors during the night and closing the blinds during the day, but gradually the walls warm up and it gets harder to get the heat out. The first few days we'd start the day at 23 and end around 26, yesterday it was 25.5 to 28, this morning it's only cooled to 26.5... we're spending much of the day at my mom's place now, she lives down the street and has A/C

Before installing A/C we first already had sun screens for 10 years but even with those our apartment becomes unbearably hot. We keep it around 24 C now with A/C at day

Me too, learned about the multi-artiy part just last month! From Programming Clojure 4th ed, I believe 😄

It doesn't have to be functions. It works for anything that will be def-ed.

I'm also in 🇳🇱 and visited my local library for the first time yesterday to compute under their aircon. The librarian was also super nice and walked around offering people glasses of water. Likely going to head back over there after lunch today before it reaches 37...

@kevin.lynagh You're in Amsterdam right? The OBA is super nice

Yeah, I'm near the Rembrantpark and went to a lil' OBA just west of me on Postjesweg

lol that ceiling reminds me of a PCB I've been designing lately that has 96 LEDs in a grid exactly like that.

Playing around with a new lens this morning and this one popped in. If you look closely, you can see the bird got a nut ;-)

I found a Red Admiral butterfly in the kitchen this morning. Apparently it means I will experience profound transformation, spiritual awakening, and inner strength 🧘. Thankfully I persuaded him/her/them to go out for some fresh air without any harm.

Happy Feierabend! One of the few things that stuck from ten years in Germany, make the end of the workday something to celebrate. Crack open a cold beverage, festively mark the start of the non work evening.

In our house, late Friday afternoon, one of us will say "I declare it the weekend!" and go to the fridge to get a couple of beers 🍻 It's a good tradition!

(and we always have some nice N/A beer in for any non-drinkers who might be here as guests)

I love the recent technological advances in N/A beer. Humanity continues to make progress.

Yeah, there are a couple of craft breweries over here (USA) that have produced some really decent IPAs in various styles, all with near 0 abv. A lot of N/A beers still taste very metallic to me, tho'...
