Good morning, today we go back home by train. First to Cologne, then Utrecht and then Gouda.

Doubly amusing as harmless can be equated to useless.

I'll teach my kids about AI like I teach them about creepy men handing out candy.

ARRRRRGGHGHHHH I'm trying to write in the Jira editor and fill in more details in a code block, and it's dividing into new code blocks when I hit enter STOP ITTTTTT

I can't rejoin the text again I'm going mad

I have no audience and I must scream

imre 2026-06-23T11:38:59.821709Z

I also like it when I try to create multiple separate subsequent code blocks with nothing else in between them and they are auto-joined. Not sure which editor does that but I had it in the past 3 months

I figured it out. Lesson learned; be as minimal as possible in Jira 😞

Tomas Brejla 2026-06-23T13:44:14.706289Z

I feel your pain. Jira's editor is just plain evil. I hate it with a passion. Especially the fact that the editor behaves differently when you use "create ticket" vs. when you "edit existing ticket". That's just ultra-evil and I hope the people responsible for that have their places reserved in hell:crossed_fingers:🙂

I hadn't even discovered that flavour of editing hell yet! Just going to skip it by creating empty tickets and editing afterwards.

Tomas Brejla 2026-06-23T13:56:12.216489Z

> Just going to skip it by creating empty tickets and editing afterwards. Yes. That's exactly the only correct way I know to "suffer less" 🙂

And if you happen to use the Atlassian extension for VS Code, to avoid interacting with their dreadful Jira website, you get even more variants on how formatting works, and they randomly change it with new versions some times. For a while, the API behind the extension rejected any text that contained a URL (oh so helpful!) but they have at least fixed that recently.
