wow!

last raptor I saw was a buzzard at the weekend being chased by a murder of crows.

A common sight here too, we have a buzzard couple nearby in the woodlands.

I use the merlin bird id app ... seems like it belongs to a wholesome project. Anyone else has better?

Didn't see the buzzard in the garden (it was on a drive in the country). We get a lot of nesting migratory birds here on the coast tho

merlin has a much nicer UX and more affordances than birdnet. I'm not that serious, so I'll stick with merlin.

I'll give it another go. Just literally didn't work for me last time I tried it a few years ago

afaik it's all on device whereas birdnet uses some neural net in germany, so 🧟
