I just explained to my daughter (18) that we always (and sometime only) say good morning, regardless of time. She concluded that it was very cringe. and then I said you lovely people are my homies! and she walked away.

I don't have kids, but as an uncle it is a small joy in life to make my nephews (15 and 17) cringe. I feel it's my generational duty.
ohhh absolutely... as dad's it is our most important duty IMHO. and I do wel. (I think)
It is your duty to make your kids cringe, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their friends.
