when you learn Portuguese, you might think they have an off by one error cos Monday is counted as the second day of the week. And then you think and realise that humans can decide whatever they want and the thought that making things conform to how computers work is ridiculous.

Raised in a hiberno-English-speaking environment I'd always understood that Monday was the second day of the week, and that the seventh was the Sabbath/Saturday? At least formally... though understand Monday has more subconscious/informal weight as the first day of the working week
